Brazil is the most populous country in Latin America and one of the most populous in the world as well. With a population scale that big, the average production of
municipal solid waste is approximately 0.5 kg per capita per day. In 2008, there was a growth in the collection of solid waste however; almost half of the daily garbage still
does not have an appropriate destination. In large cities such as São Paulo, the average municipal waste production per capita per day can be as high as 0.85 kg. The country
also faces the problem of immense quantity of trash being thrown by careless citizens on the streets and beaches. This just shows how improper waste disposal can bring about
big problems especially with Latin American countries. Incineration on the other hand can actually be an effective method but due to the fact that incinerators cost so much, more
so to operate and maintain Brazil eventually settled with dumps and landfills instead. Good news is that TGEG tied-up with SBSC to help the country resolve its waste management
issues by deploying the Bio Green System Technology while encouraging local government units to unite with the advocacy of our company in building an almost zero waste society for a
cleaner and greener future.
