About Dumaguete
Negros Oriental is composed of 20 municipalities and five cities, the heart of which is Dumaguete City. Dumaguete is the capital and largest city of the province.
According to the 2000 census, it has a population of 102,265 people. A person from Dumaguete is called a "Dumagueteño". The city is nicknamed The City of Gentle People.
Dumaguete is referred to as a university town because of the universities and number of other colleges where students of the province and surrounding provinces and cities
in Visayas and Mindanao go to enroll for college. The city is best known for Silliman University, the country's first Protestant university and the first American private
university in Asia.
Why Dumaguete?
Waste management in Dumaguete City has two laws which are national law and local law ordinance. They follow the national law which orders no burning of trash, no
littering and no burying to name some. There are plans for the future improvement of Dumaguete City's waste management concerns.
Conclusion
The technology of TGEG and SBSC offers innovative solutions to environmental concerns that would eventually turn to welfare effects to its direct beneficiaries: the households,
the industries, institutions and communities that altogether deserve a cleaner environment and a sustainable source of energy.
