In spite of the passage of the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act or the Republic Act (RA) 9003, Philippines is still looming with garbage problems.
Landfills and open dumps based on studies, answers for 34 percent of human-related methane emissions to the atmosphere a global warming gas that has 23 times more
heat-trapping power than carbon dioxide. These landfills and open dumps are illegal under RA 9003. Mismanagement of waste has grave environmental effects, ground and
surface water contamination, local flooding, air pollution, exposure to toxins, and spread of disease to name some. Most of the disposal sites contain infectious material,
therefore threatening the health of sanitation workers and garbage-pickers. Filipinos need to acknowledge the importance of the environment's immediate recovery and effects
of improper waste management to the country. Filipinos need to understand and reform their attitudes and concern towards the protection of the environment. TGEG tied-up
with SBSC to help the country resolve its waste management issues by deploying the Bio Green System Technology while encouraging local government units to unite with the advocacy
of our company in building an almost zero waste society for a cleaner and greener future.
